The Forum of AsianPacific Graphic Arts Technology is the general name for the organization to be operated by the representative organization of the printing industry who is located in the Asian region.(Abbreviation: FAGAT)

It has been said that 'Printing industry is the mother of the culture.' The printing industry has contributed a great deal toward building our modern culture and history.

At the same time, the printing industry has played the role of providing a method of disseminating information in a broad sense. The most important element constituting our contemporary society is information. In this sense, the printing industry is a most basic industry in that it supports the transmission of information.

However the printing industry has developed as a 'domestic demand industry', based on a country's own culture, at present is undergoing a great change with the dizitazation of information technology, the development of communication technology and the global change of economic environment. Along with these change, new tasks have emerged for us: the opening of printing technology and information and international exchange, and the need to go beyond our natural boundaries.

Especially, in order to promote the uniform development of printing industries throughout the totality of the Asian region, providing an open printing technology and information and international exchange are tasks that should be accomplished by all means.

The object of theForum of AsianPacific Graphic Arts Technology is to facilitate the exchange of printing technologies and to promote progress in the printing industry in Asian countries, considering to built cooperative relationship with a view toward internationalization.
